| We were in the final stage of the project and we only had
about a week but each of the person had different interest and interest. My role in this
stage was to faciliate discussiion while not to facilitate too much discussion since we
were already behind and deadline was getting close.Another ne problem was the conflict
withing the group dealing with how the presentation should be held. We already had so many
notes and materials including recorded video tapes. On a limited available time we have to
cutdown to amount that is possible. What I had done as a leader was to try to create a
consensus based on my idea in which preferrs more of field research and tried to direct
the group to that side while not ignoring the preference over more theroriethical
approace, and tried to create a good harmony. |
My role at this late stage was to move the team towards
decision and consensus about their different interests and preferences for presenting
information. This I did by facilitating discussion –but not too much–
since we were already behind and the deadline was close. I dealt with the conflict within
the group about whether to focus on field research or theory by encouraging and listening
to each preference, while creating harmony around my preference of field research. I
believe that a good leader respects his own ideas as much as he does those of the group,
and uses his position responsibly to take the initiative to make things better. |
