WWII is to this day the greatest war in history. More than half a century has passed since this atrocious conflict took place and to this day we still wonder how it could have happened. We look back on the events that led to WWII and ponder whether things could have been different or not. For so long the actions that were taken by the allies against the countries that had lost the first world war have been debated on. Many scholars of the post WWII era believe that whether or not it was done unconsciously, the allies put into motion the mechanism that would lead to the outbreak of the second world war as the dust from the first world war was only beginning to settle.

To this day World War II is considered the greatest war in history. More than half a century after this atrocious conflict took place, we still wonder how it could have happened.
