The horn blaring the end of the lunch period brought to a grinding halt a nerve-racking humming from a jam-packed high noon showdown of Azusa High School Aztecas.

Never in my wildest imagination did I ever dream of finding myself at center stage of a rowdy and unruly crowd demanding action in an unpredictable situation.  Either way, it was damning if que sí and damning if chale.

After perceiving that Dutch was dropping hints on what the next course of action would be, everyone in the room impatiently awaited the outcome.  The eerie silence continued unabated in the cavernous classroom.  In 1965 and 1966 was the room was the dining area for ninth grade Aztecas students.  Three walls did not have windows and the fourth wall on the west side was all glass, from floor to ceiling.  The room provides a panoramic view of the entire inner campus area of Azusa High School.

This occasion, however, unquestionably was not a typical day and definitely a rare occurrence.  The unbelievable unfolding spectacular panorama had hundreds of other Aztecas, countless numbers of teachers, and numerous administrative personnel resembling frozen statues scattered across the vast inner campus quad.  All eyes were fixed in the direction of Mr. Fox’s homeroom.
